As military tensions intensify between India and Pakistan, Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra has publicly expressed his unwavering support for the Indian Armed Forces. Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the javelin star praised the bravery of Indian soldiers and urged citizens to stay vigilant and follow official guidelines during this sensitive period.

“We are proud of our Brave Indian Armed Forces who are fighting for our nation against Terrorism. Let’s do our part and make sure to follow guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety during this time. Jai Hind. Jai Bharat. Jai Hind Ki Sena,” Chopra posted.

The athlete’s message comes amid a wave of cross-border hostilities, with Pakistan recently launching eight missiles targeting key locations in Jammu and Kashmir—Satwari, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia—all of which were successfully intercepted by Indian air defence systems. Similar threats were neutralised in Udhampur and Jaisalmer, where Pakistani drones were intercepted mid-air, prompting widespread blackouts in cities like Bikaner, Jalandhar, Akhnoor, and Amritsar as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile, India has reiterated its commitment to national security with a clear warning: any attack on military installations will be met with a firm and proportionate response. This stance was demonstrated earlier through “Operation Sindoor,” India’s precision strike campaign on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), following the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam that killed 28 civilians.

Despite his demanding schedule, Neeraj Chopra continues to inspire with his patriotism. While he prepares for the Doha Diamond League on May 16 and the inaugural Neeraj Chopra Classic in Bengaluru on May 24, his absence on the domestic circuit will see Sachin Yadav and Yashvir Singh representing India in men’s javelin throw.

Chopra’s heartfelt message has resonated with citizens and service members alike, reinforcing national unity and morale at a time when India’s security forces remain on high alert.
